A Brief San Diego Experience.
While sleeping from 4am to 1pm is the norm back in S'pore, habits have somewhat shifted itself to 9pm to 4am every nights in San Diego now. The day here is rather short (it starts to dark as early as 5) and the weather at night is damn cold. While I can still possibly survive in tee and jeans during the day, doing the same at night couldn't be more foolish. Slangs - It's so easy to slang here, but when you hear it, it gets irritating. SO, I'm cutting down on that. I'm trying hard. Food - When Xinyi told me that they didn't cook but takeaway instead, I was thinking wtf, it's so freaking expensive to takeaway everyday. Oh and that's because they shared a packet everytime, and I was thinking how great it is to have small appetites. TEH..the portion they gave us can feed 3 Singaporean males. Apartment - Louis' contact was great. He's saving us a grand by allowing us to stay cheap in his house. He brought us around. He picked us up at the airport. He was so helpful it's unbelievable! Right now though, I'm lodging in some hardup apartment with YL and YT, where internet access is ONLY available in the TV room upstairs. There are thieves around - we heard pple saying their money and passports were stolen. Oh my. Streets - It's clean and peaceful here. The lifestyle is slow. It's nice. At night, it's like clarke quay. You've gotta tip here. You just got to! It's an American culture. Beggers are all over the place. They are mobile, unlike in S'pore. They walk around, shouting 'I'm hungry, I'm cold'. School - School's a good 30mins trolley ride from Downtown. It's big and gives a historic feel. People - They are very friendly, fun-loving. The chicks really makes you go wow. The blacks speak so fast that it's rapping speed. The ABCs are unbelievable. Most of the time though, we mixed with international students. I must say as foreigners, we tend to speak to each other more easily. The japs were cool! I've stirred some shit as well. Right now, I'm classless but Yvette said it's alright and told me to relax. I'll take her word for it. Another thing was the agreement I'd made with the $450 per month apartment with no furniture. We have ignored her completely because we are living with Freddy. It feels bad because she's done up the whole place nicely and she's not getting us. She's emailed me a few times, stating how upset and disappointed she was. I'm so sorry but I just don't feel like replying her because it just drags matters up and I've got to explain a hell out, and in the first place, I was at fault. SO..clueless. That's all. I'm still waiting for her email though. It's really hard to not think about it.
take care ah,...faster settle down and write ur snail mail le =P
